Our Arts at the Capitol Theater Performing Arts Magnet High School (ACT) is currently seeking an Instructional Assistant to work with our 9-12 grade students in academic and performing arts classrooms. Responsibilities: Provide individual and small-group support to students during class activities, rehearsals, and projects. Facilitate classroom management and help maintain a positive and productive learning environment. Collaborate with theater production teams, including directors, designers, and technicians, to help with the planning and execution of performances, rehearsals, and technical aspects. Assist with set construction, prop and costume organization, lighting, sound, and other technical aspects of theater productions. Supervise and support students during rehearsals and performances, ensuring their safety and adherence to production guidelines. Engage with students in discussions, activities, and workshops related to theater theory, history, and performance techniques. Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages creativity, collaboration, and artistic expression among students. Provide support to students with diverse learning needs, adapting instructional strategies and materials to accommodate different learning styles and abilities. Work closely with special education staff and other professionals to ensure that all students receive appropriate assistance and accommodations. Requirements: Experience collaborating with colleagues and working with high school aged students is a must. Applicants should be enthusiastic and flexible individuals willing to help struggling students. Candidates with organizational skills and bilingual in Spanish are highly desirable.
