Description | Case Manager (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act grant Youth with Disabilities Program Case Management Services) Located: Community Learning Center, Willimantic Full time, 40 hours, with benefits
Position responsibilities include:
- Achieving recruitment and contractual performance goals for the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) Youth with Disabilities grant.
- Coaching eligible job seekers through employment plan action step development, training funding application procedures and job placement activities.
- Providing referrals to human services and community resources.
- Coordiantion with school Special Education departments, Bureau of Rehabilitation Services and Level Up Services.
- Completing basic mathematic equations for balancing budgets, assisting with training-funding applications or requesting support service funding on behalf of job seeking customers.
- Maintaining customer management database and required reporting.
- Guidance to job seekers on knowledge of local job market, training providers, and case management best practices.
- Updating and editing customer résumés and cover letters.
- Providing remediation and tutoring to individuals.
- Executing internal WIOA Youth program compliance checks on policies/program procedures in coordination with supervisor.
- Identifying and drafting programmatic best practices for incorporation into program improvement activities.
- Analyze program outcomes and performance data monthly to address programmatic performance maintenance, in collaboration with other WIOA Case Mangers and supervisor.
- Monitor monthly contact requirements for regional customer engagement.
Required qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Sociology, Human Development, Counseling, Workforce Development, or other relevant degree field plus two plusyears related work experience (will consider reasonable alternative combination of education and experience).
- Experienced case manager (preference for employment services experience).
- Ability to thrive within diverse teams and serve people with diverse socioeconomic, racial, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, verbal and written.
- Advanced competency with Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Experience in program leadership activities (e.g.; training staff, overseeing work activities/data accuracy, monitoring progress)
- Capacity to complete data-entry tasks utilizing web-based systems, maintain accuracy and efficiency in fast-paced environment.
- Take independent personal responsibility for maintaining organized schedule amidst shifting priorities.
- Ability to travel within Eastern Connecticut and occasionally statewide with reliable transportation.
Preferred qualifications:
- Knowledge of Disability services.
- Knowledge of One-Stop American Job Center services, partners, and programs.
- Competency in customer assessment techniques and career planning.
- Experience executing program compliance checks on policies/program procedures in coordination with a supervisory team.
- Understanding of person- and/or family-centered and trauma-informed service delivery.
- Intermediate to Advanced user of Google Suite (including: Drive, Docs, Sheets, Voice, and Forms).
- Job development and knowledge of the business community in Eastern Connecticut.
- Outreach and Marketing activities, such as social media page management.
- Bilingual preferred: English/Spanish.
