EASTCONN is a dynamic and innovative non-profit educational service center committed to excellence in education in Northeast Connecticut.

 

We are seeking an immediate full time Administrative Assistant for our Division of Leading and Learning.  This position provides support to the Director who is responsible for overseeing our K-12 magnet schools and programs, as well as the Leading and Learning Division that provides professional development and coaching to our regions educators and schools.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Answering and directing phone calls, taking thorough messages and transferring to appropriate staff
  • Organizing and scheduling meetings, appointments and other arrangements
  • Preparing presentations, reports, documents, correspondence, meeting agendas and minutes
  • Managing calendars, maintaining appointment schedules and coordinating meetings
  • Creating and maintaining filing system for physical and electronic documents
  • Ordering and tracking office supplies and managing inventory
  • Providing general support to staff and customers
  • Coordinating maintenance of office equipment and troubleshooting problems
  • Maintaining email, organizing inbox and ensuring timely responses
  • Grant related finance tasks including processing invoices, expense reports and budget tracking
  • Other dutes as assigned

 

The qualified candidate must be self-motivated, energetic, flexible and possess excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, knowledge of Microsoft word, excel, and other technology tools, and grant/budgeting knowledge.

 

Experience working in the field of education is desired.


This position is highly visible within the agency, State Department of Education and with client public school districts across Connecticut.

The ideal candidate will have an Associates Degree and qualified experience as an Administrative Assistant or in a similar role.
