EASTCONN's Quinebaug Middle College Magnet is seeking a dynamic library media specialist to join our team. QMC is located on the campus of QVCC and shares a integrated library space with the college.  Prior experience teaching high school preferred. Ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of  POG transferable skills and current best practices in library media and ISTE standards to ensure student mastery. Experience teaching within a personalized, competency based framework beneficial.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Oversee and deliver an integrated library media program. Instruct students and staff in effective use of the media center, information and technology literacy skills, and use of a variety of technology equipment to meet learning mastery. Evaluate, select and procure print and digital resources and related equipment. Implement a results oriented information and technology literacy skills curriculum integrated with subject area curriculum through partnerships with teachers.  Provide leadership and guidance for effectively integrating technologies with instruction to create innovative instructional strategies. Develop knowledge of curriculum in all subject areas, work collaboratively to create integrated PBL curriculum and instruction. Instruct learners in new information technologies. Recommend and procure resources for staff for use in meeting instructional objectives. Collaborate with library media partners at the local level. instruct first year experience classes and support student research. 

The ideal candidate will hold state Library Media 062 certification. Experience working in a school library setting is necessary. Strong computer and technology skills are required. Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills will allow you to actively engage the school community.  Knowledge and integration of ISTE standards beneficial.
